On Underscores.me you can generate your own personal _s starter theme. Since you can enter your theme name right there, you save yourself the find and replace of the theme name in a text editor. An introduction to Automattic’s _s starter theme is in “A 1000-Hour Head Start: Introducing The _s Theme” on the ThemeShaper blog.

Yoko on WordPress.com
We are delighted that our free theme Yoko is now available to WordPress.com users as well. The WordPress.com news blog introduces Yoko together with the free portfolio theme “Mixfolio”. SoundCloud Player
The iframe audio player from SoundCloud is a nice way to embed audio streams in WordPress’s audio post format. With the SoundCloud Shortcode plugin you can even place the player in a post with a [soundcloud] shortcode. The option to show cover artwork makes the player look especially good, and with the new iframe code it also works in responsive designs and on all iOS devices (iPhone, iPad).
After uploading an audio stream you get the player code from the Share button, where you can also adjust how the player looks.
For a short general introduction to SoundCloud, watch the video “SoundCloud: The Tour” on Vimeo.

WordCamp San Francisco 2011 Videos
On the WordCamp San Francisco website (the event took place from August 12 to 14, 2011) you will find plenty of great video recordings of the individual talks, a good way to catch up on the latest trends and topics around WordPress. I found “Responsive Web Design” by Sara Cannon, “Options for a Multilingual Site” by Shannon Smith and “Awesome Up Your Boring Theme: WordPress Post Formats” by Ian Stewart especially interesting.
